LOCATION: 1265 Military Trail, Toronto, ON, Canada
ARCHITECT: John Andrews
DATES: 1963-65
NOTES: Originally founded as Scarborough College, the campus was rapidly built – designed and constructed in a “Critical Path” fashion – which, according to John Andrews, contributed to concrete’s selection as the primary construction material. Upon its opening, the campus received significant acclaim for both its architecture as well as its ambitious embrace of technology in the classroom – each was heavily wired and cabled to enable CCTV broadcasts of the lectures and seminars.
